Ray T. Game

Raymond T. Game, 89, of Jamestown, ND, died February 26, 2013 at his home. He was born in Jamestown to George James Game and Lois Pearl Reed Game on July 27, 1923. He was a 1941 graduate of Jamestown High School, and shortly after graduation enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps which became the Air Force in 1947. He was a flight officer, certified to fly B24's and several other aircraft.

Ray returned to Jamestown and worked for Burlington Northern. He later joined the family business Reed Coal Company which later became known as Game Fuel Company, of which he was owner/operator. He also sold Rusco Windows, was a crop sprayer, and known around the area as an aerial fox hunter.

He was an avid flier, hunter, sportsman, and golfer. He was often seen riding his yellow Honda scooter throughout town and the countryside during the spring to fall seasons.

Ray was one of the founding members of the Jamestown Country Club where he became known as "everyday Ray". He was a member of the Stutsman County Fair Board for 58 years, the longest standing member. Ray served many years on the Airport Authority, was a Lifetime member of the Elks, American Legion, and the Masons.

Ray married Mary Theresa McMahon on March 9, 1945, in Westover Field, Massachusetts. They made their home in Jamestown and raised 4 children. They were divorced in 1979.

Ray is survived by Thomas Game, CA, Marney Shirley, Jamestown, Nancy (Bruce) Anderson, Minot, and Barbara, Bloomington, MN; 4 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George James "Jimmie" Game; and sister, Averill Reed Grettenberg.

Per Ray's request there will be no funeral services. His family is hosting an open house in his honor on Sunday, March 3, 2013, at his home at 435 3rd Street SW, Jamestown, from 2:00 to 4:00PM.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Stutsman County Fair, Jamestown Country Club, or the donor's choice.
