Raymond Joe Kautzman

Raymond Joe Kautzman, 75, Pingree, ND passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Sanford Health Center, Sioux Falls, SD.
Ray was born on August 28, 1940, to Raphael and Bertha (Neumiller) Kautzman in Sykeston, ND. They lived in Syskeston until Ray was eight years old then moved to Pingree, ND.
On May 31, 1962, Ray married his beloved wife Carol Jean Kortendick in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Pingree, ND. That is where they raised their four children. Carol passed away in March 1987.
Ray worked various jobs of construction, bus driver, janitor at Pingree High School until 1968. In 1969, Ray went to work for Mayer Truck Line Inc., where he got his nickname "Pork chop" until he retired on December 31 2012. After retiring from Mayer he worked a short time for McIlonie Farms.
Ray loved to hunt, fish, stockcar racing, snowmobiling, and most of all being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved listening to Carol and her band. On July 27, 2015, Ray moved to Sioux Falls to live with his daughter and family so they could help care for him due to his health.
Ray is survived by his son, Dan (Jayme) Kautzman, West Fargo, ND, daughter, Charla Kautzman Bauer (Larry Shaw), Sioux Falls, SD, son, Jason Kautzman and (Jodi Gangl), Devils Lake, ND and Randy Kautzman, Pingree, ND; grandchildren, Derek (Angie) Wanzek, Casey (Eric) Bjugstad , Lindsay (Cooper) Wahlo, Ryan Bauer, Cole, Lane, Levi & Rori Kautzman, Cody (Nagoshia) Gangl, Megan Gangl & Kyle Robbins, Amanda & Jessie Fauth; great grandchildren, Josie Wanzek, Breaden Wanzek, Mya Bjugstad, Bailey & Brody Fauth and Elli Robbins. Brother, Roger (Gloria) Kautzman, Seattle, WA., sisters, Caroline (Loren) Elsner, Marion, ND, Linda (Jeff) Fuchs, Jamestown. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol and brother Ervin.
Ray will be greatly missed by all. He was very strong with battling with his health issues and fought to live.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 28 at Basilica of St. James, with Msgr. Jeffrey L. Wald, officiating.
Visitation: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, November 27 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Vigil Service: 7:00 PM, Friday, November 27 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial: Pingree Cemetery.
