Raymond Alton Kvislen, 87, Jamestown, North Dakota died Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at Jamestown Hospital in Jamestown.
Mr. Kvislen was born January 7, 1919 in Sanborn, North Dakota the son of Adolph and Edna (Ammundson) Kvislen. He grew up and attended school in Sanborn and graduated from Sanborn High School. Raymond moved to California where he lived and worked for a short time before he returned to North Dakota. On January 25, 1948 Raymond married Arlene D. Lucas in Jamestown. He worked as a sales clerk for Eddy Furniture Store. They moved to Freehold, New Jersey in 1966 and made their home there until moving back to Jamestown in 1985. Arlene died April 8, 1991. Raymond moved to the Jameshouse where he resided until his death.
Raymond enjoyed spending time at the lake cabin and cooking.
He is survived by two daughters, Diane (Duane) Witzig, Jamestown and Sharon Moore, Mt. Pleasant, SC; one son, Dennis Kvislen, Maple Shade, NJ; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald (Helen) Kvislen, Jamestown and four sisters, Margaret Schmitt, Jamestown, Claryce Erickson, New Hope, MN, Mildred Fields and Dorothy Peterson, both of Bismarck, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one grandchild.
Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Friday, June 16, 2006 at the United Presbyterian Church, Jamestown with Dr. Steve Reed officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 15, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, ND.
