Reinhold J. Oster

Reinhold J. Oster, 94, Jamestown, N.D. died Friday, July 26, 2002 at Central Dakota Village in Jamestown, N.D.

Reinhold John Oster was born April 3, 1908 the son of Christian and Katherina (Wanner) Oster of Monango, N.D. He was raised and educated south of Tappen, N.D.

He married Kathryn Dockter on July 10, 1934 in Streeter, N.D. They farmed south of Tappen until 1949 and then moved to Jamestown, N.D. where he worked for the railroad for 10 years. He then worked construction for Everett's and then Northern Improvement until his retirement in 1965. He entered Central Dakota Nursing Home in August of 2001.

He is a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed gardening, fixing things and his grandchildren.

Reinhold is survived by one daughter, Janice and James Thompson, of Jamestown; grandson Mike (Julie) Thompson, of Mesa, AZ; great grandchildren Sydney and Isaac Thompson of Mesa, AZ; grandson, Jeff (Chris) Thompson, of Fargo, N.D.; one brother and sister-in-law John and Irene Oster, of Salem Oregon; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Emma and Karl Berg, Bismarck; Lydia Schmidt, Jamestown and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn (Katie) on July 24, 1992; one infant son, two brothers, and one sister, and his parents.

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. - Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at St. John's Lutheran Church - Jamestown, N.D. with Rev. Dennis Ellingsen officiating.

Prayer Service: 7:30 P.M. - Monday, July 29, 2002 at Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, N.D.

Visitation: Monday, July 29, 2002 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, N.D.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery - Jamestown, N.D.
