Reinholdt ""Reiny"" Benjamin Hoffmann, 87, Jamestown, died Sunday, May 4, 2003, at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, North Dakota. Reinholdt was born April 24, 1916 in Cleveland, North Dakota, the son of Gottlieb & Louise (Wiest) Hoffmann. He attended schools in Stutsman County. He served in the CCC Co. 4729, Camp Belton, GNP-9, Belton, Montana during 1937. Reinholdt married Ella Wittmer on January 28, 1939 in Medina. She died in 1987. They moved from Iosco Township to Jamestown in 1944. He worked for Devany Transfer, CH Carpenter Lumber, T.P. Endres Construction and the Gardenette. Reinholdt retired in 1988. He married Elva Palmer on April 30, 1988 in Wimbledon, ND. She died in 1998.
Reinholdt was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Jamestown. He loved traveling around North Dakota, dropping a few nickels or quarters at a casino, playing cards and visiting with his family and friends.
His is survived by his daughter, Ruby Jacobs, Fargo, one brother, Rudy (Jackie) Hoffmann, Medina, two sisters, Viola Trautman, Medina and Dorothy (William) Lauber, Jamestown, four grandsons, Richard Treantenou, Idaho; Jeffrey Treantenou, Oregon; Jameson Treantenou, California and Gene Jacobs, Fargo, one granddaughter, Victoria Starke, Idaho, five great-grandsons and five sister-in-laws, Rachel Hoffmann, Medina; Mildred Hoffmann, Medina; Sylvia Hoffmann, Jamestown; Emma Gent, Jamestown and Martha Jenkin, Bismarck.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Ella, second wife, Elva, one daughter, one grandson, one granddaughter, six brothers and five sisters.
Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 8, 2003 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. JoAnne Moeller officiating.
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Visitation: 4:00 to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Home.
Burial: Medina Cemetery, Medina, North Dakota.
