Reuben Schlafman

Reuben Schlafman, 82, died Sunday, September 16, 2007, at Central Dakota Village, Jamestown, ND.

Reuben Schlafman was born November 22, 1924 on the family farm in Sheridan County, North Dakota, the son of Carl and Emilia (Lieb) Schlafman.

Reuben grew up attended school in Sheridan County. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1944. Reuben served in the Pacific during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946.

He married Martha Neumiller on October 27, 1948 in Billings, Montana. He and Martha returned to North Dakota where they raised their family and Reuben farmed for several years before being employed as a semi driver for Interstate Brand Corporation retiring in 1984.

Reuben enjoyed fishing, hunting, cards and playing league darts as well as being a member of the VFW, Eagles, and Teamsters Local 123.

Reuben is survived by his wife, Martha, Jamestown; two sons, Myron (Cel) Schlafman and Curt Schlafman, both of Jamestown; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Darlene (Ronald) Sahr, Watford City, ND; one brother, Arnold (Nan) Schlafman, Minot, ND and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.

Funeral Service: 11:00AM, Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Rich Fitzer officiating.

Visitation: 1:00PM to 7:00PM, Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 7:00PM, Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, North Dakota.
