Reuben R. Weil, 82, Ypsilanti, North Dakota died Monday, September 27, 2004 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, North Dakota.

Reuben was born April 29, 1922 in Beulah, North Dakota the son of Gottlieb and Julia (Medche) Weil. He grew up nine miles south of Beulah and went to a country school. Reuben worked in the coal mine in Beulah and then on the family farm with his father and many area farmers. He joined the CCC and worked in Watford City and Medora, ND. He married Edna Pfenning on July 28, 1946 at Zion Lutheran Church in Beulah. They bought their own farm south of Zap and lived and farmed there for 10 years. When they sold the farm they purchased another farm at Kulm, ND and farmed there for 35 years. Upon retirement in 1992 they moved to Ypsilanti and have lived there ever since.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Kulm, ND, where he served on the church council and then Immanuel Lutheran Church, Jamestown.

Reuben is survived by his wife of 58 years, Edna; two children, Judy Weil, Elk Grove, CA and Douglas Weil, Neilsville, WI; four grandchildren, Kimberly (Derek) Dorman, Sacramento, CA, Kevin Hehr, Winnemuca, NV, Tyler Weil, Superior, WI and Lisa Weil, Duluth, MN; one great grandchild, Kassandra Hehr, Reno, NV; one brother, Elmer Weil, Las Vegas, NV and two sisters, Eleanor Sailer, Bismarck, ND and Alma Doffee, South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Friday, October 1, 2004 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Rev. Dennis Ellingsen officiating.

Visitation: 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 30, 2004 at Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
