Richard Brandt, 66, Port Angeles, WA, died August 21, 2008 at Port Angeles of respiratory failure.
Richard Edgar Brandt was born September 10, 1941 in Edgeley, ND, the son of Spencer and Mattie (Foy) Brandt. He married Lavonne Carlson in Detroit Lakes, MN on June 19, 1958. Richard worked in the oil fields of Prudhoe Bay, Alaska and the state of Washington for 22 years. He owned Dick's Plumbing and Heating in Port Angeles, WA.
He was a member of the Eagles and sponsored a racecar at the Port Angeles speedway for several years. He was a country western cowboy at heart and enjoyed fishing, ice skating and bowling.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard (Jennifer) Brandt, Jr., Port Angeles, WA; 5 daughters: Susanne (James) Jerome, Port Angeles, WA; Teresa (Roger) Ingram, Port Angeles, WA; Laurie (Chris) Swegle, Port Angeles WA; Colleen Lee, Port Angeles, WA; Richelle (Curtis) Wright, Sequim, WA; his mother, Maddie Brandt, Jamestown, ND; 2 brothers: Spencer (Lisa) Brandt, Dickey, ND; Thomas (Lisa) Brandt, Eatonville, WA; 2 sisters: Helen Hoveskeland, Port Angeles, WA; Dorothy (Gordon) Broadwell, Kathryn, ND; 3 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; a daughter, Renea Telios and grandchildren, Jerrad Lee and James Richard Jerome.
Visitation was held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Harper-Ridgeview Funeral Chapel, Port Angeles, WA
Interment - 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Mount Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND
