Richard P. Brehm, Jr., 67, rural Jamestown, North Dakota died Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown. Richard was born February 24, 1936 in Buchanan, ND the son of Richard, Sr. and Garnetta (Smiley Oberg) Brehm. He was raised south of Jamestown and attended country schools and Jamestown High School. He raised and broke horses in the early years. Richard married Frieda Hofer. He worked as a plumber for Brooks Plumbing, then for Arneson Plumbing in Jamestown. He also worked as a janitor for the Buchanan, Jud and New Town, ND schools. Later he was employed with the Corp of Engineers and the US Postal Service as a rural mail carrier until his retirement in 1989. Richard enjoyed gardening, hunting and raising horses. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown.
Richard is survived by his wife, one son, Tim (Debra) Brehm, rural Bismarck and two daughters, Hedy Gallagher, Jamestown and Deborah (Brian) Leppert, Carson City, NV; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Charlene) Brehm, Jamestown and Kenneth Brehm, rural Jamestown and one sister, Carol (Glen) Kaas, Becker, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Michael.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Monday, June 23, 2003 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bryce Tahran officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 9:00 PM, Sunday, June 22, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Home.
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Sunday, June 22, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Cremation will take place after the service.
