Richard Fletcher, 85, Courtenay, North Dakota died Sunday, November 9, 2014 at his home. Richard Fletcher was born July 20, 1929, in Jamestown, North Dakota to Youart and Erma Fletcher. He attended Corinne Township School. On February 28, 1959, he married Vera Fletcher. Richard and Vera resided and farmed in Corinne Township all of their lives. He served in the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandsons. He also enjoyed riding in the combine or tractor with his nephew, Dana. Richard is survived by his daughter, Renee (Wayne) Christ, Dazey, ND; grandsons, Adam Christ, Bismarck, ND, Brandon (Sarah) Christ, Valley City, ND, Cody Christ (Breezie Tinjum), Moorhead, MN; sister, Corinne Kolnes, Detroit Lakes, MN; sisters-in-law, Shirley Fletcher, Jamestown, ND, Dee Fletcher, Buffalo, MN; brother-in-law, Duane Carlson, Jamestown, ND. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera, parents, four brothers, Jim, Bill, Art, and Allan, sisters, Catherine Mickelson and Arlene Carlson.
Funeral services: 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 13, 2014 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wimbledon, ND with Pastor Robert Hill, officiating.
Visitation: 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, November 12 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens.
