Richard Freeh

Richard Edwin Freeh was born on October 4, 1959 in Harvey, ND to Arduin and Regina (Muscha) Freeh. He died on March 27, 2018 in Jamestown, ND during his recovery following open heart surgery. He graduated from Harvey High School in 1977. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he furthered his education at Lake Region Jr. College in Devils Lake, ND and later at the University of Jamestown, where he received a degree in History and Education.

He married Rosemary Ripplinger on June 25, 1982 in Selz, ND. They made their home in Jamestown, where Richard most recently was employed by Applebee’s.

Richard was a fan of science fiction, especially the original Star Trek series. He spent many hours building elaborate models of ships from this series and other similar programs. During football season, he was an avid fantasy football player and liked competing with his son, Christopher. He also enjoyed traveling with his family, gardening, singing with his church choir, reading and working around the house and yard.

Richard is survived by his wife, Rosemary; brother, Randy (Mary Beth) Freeh of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Merlin Martin; and son, Christopher.

Mass of Christian Burial: 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown.

Visitation: One hour before the service at the church.

Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, ND.
