Richard Gebeke

Richard ‘Rick’ DuWayne Gebeke, 68, of Jamestown, ND passed away peacefully at home June 3, 2019. Rick was born December 6, 1950 in Moorhead, MN to DuWayne and Eugenia ‘Jean’ Gebeke. He attended West Fargo High School where he played basketball, football and went on to become captain of the All-American Trap Shooting team in 1969.

Rick worked for Wallwork Inc. as Regional Service Manager at several locations in ND, CO and MT. He also had business ventures owning a bar (Fat Boyz) in Moorhead, Iowa and running Semi Trailer Sales in Bismarck/Fargo with his brother Brad and son Brian.

In 2009 Rick and Joyce met in Soldier, IA. Shortly after meeting, they moved to Jamestown, ND where he had the opportunity to run the Service Department at Stutsman Harley. Joyce asked, “Rick how do you know how to work on motorcycles?” His reply was “It’s only iron.” Rick was an avid hunter, enjoyed the game of golf and loved to watch NASCAR and Bison football. He and Joyce loved working together on home improvement and remodeling projects. Rick loved to cook for the crew at Stutsman Harley and was known to all as a fixer of anything.

Rick is survived by his fiancé Joyce Hanneman, Jamestown, ND; daughter Staci (Noah) Spiekermeier, granddaughter Piper, Horace, ND; daughter-in-law Dede (Trent) Anderson, Dawson, ND; grandson Josh (Lauren) Gebeke, granddaughters Jade Gebeke, Bismarck, ND and Carlee Gebeke, Fargo, ND; siblings RoxAnne (Greg) Mund, Braydenton, FL; Brad (Lisa) Gebeke, Fargo, ND; Peggy (John) Rutten, Mapleton, ND; Denise (Richard) French, Fergus Falls, MN and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Debbie; brother, Roger; and son, Brian.

Celebration of life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2019 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
