Richard Hofmann

Richard Hofmann, 73, Medina, North Dakota died Thursday, August 17, 2006 at his residence in Medina.

Mr. Hofmann was born April 23, 1933 in Peterson Township, Stutsman County, North Dakota, the son of Jacob Peter and Mathilda (Mueller) Hofmann. He attended Peterson Township school and farmed with his father. On February 14, 1960 Richard married Lois Monson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jamestown. They farmed north of Medina where they raised their family. In 1986, they moved to Medina where their home has been since. Richard drove school bus for the Medina School District for 30 years and also maintained the Medina City Park.

Richard served on the Medina City Council. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing horseshoe and softball.

Richard is survived by his wife, Lois, five children: Pamela (Robert) Van Cleef, McAllen, TX; Terry Hall, Hampton, VA; Glenn (Roylene) Hofmann, Norcross, GA; Reed (Tamara) Hofmann, West Fargo, ND and Rodney (Tracy) Hofmann, Helena, MT, twelve grandchildren: Mikel Hofmann, Tallahassee, FL; April & Tricia Van Cleef, McAllen, TX; Christopher Hall, Silver Springs, MD; Nicole & Lexie Hofmann, Norcross, GA; Samantha, Sydney & Elijah Hofmann, West Fargo, ND and Tiffany, Kaloni & Makali Bruce, Helena, MT, six brothers: Albert (Margaret) and Wilbert (Nyra), both of Medina; Ervin (Jewel), Glendale, AZ; Donald (Lillian), Medina; Edwin (Bari), Hemet, CA and Eugene (Jackie), Renton, WA, two sisters, Vera Heupel of Minnetonka, MN and Arlene (Alvin) Schlecht of Medina and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Raymond Walter and Rory in infancy.

Memorial Service: 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at the Medina City Auditorium with Rev. Richard Pettet officiating.

Visitation: 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, August 21, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Monday, August 21, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel

Burial: Medina Cemetery, Medina, North Dakota.
