Richard D. Kelley, Jr., 62, of Jamestown, ND, died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at his home in Jamestown.
Richard Dale Kelley, Jr. was born on October 10, 1948 in Martinsville, Indiana, the son of Richard Dale and Rosena (Witticker) Kelley, Sr. He grew up in Indiana and graduated from high school there. The family moved to Colorado in 1966. Richard was educated at DuPont College of Auto Paint. He operated an auto body shop in Denver, CO for many years where he married Cheryl on June 10, 1991. He retired in the spring of 2008, then moved to Jamestown and worked for Progress Enterprises, Jamestown and Val Gross, Streeter, ND.
Richard was a registered drag racer at Bandermre's in Denver. He enjoyed NASCAR, drag racing, camping, fishing, and his dogs.
Richard is survived by one daughter, Tamara (Dan) Vickery, Jamestown; one step-daughter, Theresa Anthony, Casper, WY; two step-sons, Ronald Sneider, Topeka, KS and Brett Light, of Colorado; 10 grandchildren; one sister, Janice Kellams of Colorado; two nieces and four nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Cheryl.
Funeral Service: 1:30pm, Friday, February 18, 2011 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Visitation: 9:00am- 1:30pm, Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, ND, in the spring.
