Richard Nissen

Richard Nissen, 59, Jamestown, ND died Friday, March 10, 2006 at his home in Jamestown.

Richard Alan Nissen was born February 17, 1947 at Sisseton, SD the son of Carl and Myrtle (Stensrud) Nissen. He moved with his family to Mapleton, ND and later to West Fargo where he attended school, graduating from West Fargo High School in 1965. He attended a drafting school in Iowa and graduated in October, 1966. Richard worked as a carpenter with his father in West Fargo. He married Cindy Ziegler at West Fargo in 1970. They moved to New Rockford where he operated his own construction and home building business. He moved to Jamestown in 1982 and worked for Moline Construction and also worked on his own. He retired in the summer of 2005 due to ill health.


Survivors include his companion and best friend of 25 years, Shirley Aanderud, Jamestown; 6 children, Crystal Aanderud, Jamestown, Carrie (Nate)Pralguske, West Fargo, ND, Tim (Faith) Nissen, Fargo, ND, Chad (Tricia) Nissen, Oakdale, MN, Laurie (Todd) Krebsbach, Jamestown, and Stacey (Gene) Hillesland, Jamestown, ND; 7 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Donald (Rosie) Nissen Fargo, ND, Fred (Cherie) Nissen, Middleriver, MN, and Toren Nissen, West Fargo, ND and 4 sisters, Barbara (Richard) Lien, Osage, MN, Gwen (Neil) Johnson, Star Prairie, WI, Sandra (Dennis) Berg, Rolla, ND and Julie (Chuck) De Bolt, Mandan, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Prayer Service: 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2006 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND.
Visitation: 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2006 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND.
Interment: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, ND
