Robert "Bob" Cebula, 84, Jamestown, ND, died Saturday, October 8, 2011, at Jamestown Regional Medical Center, Jamestown.
Robert Andrew Cebula, son of Boleslaw and Leokadia (Kulink) Cebula, was born November 30, 1926, and raised on a farm in Ashland Township. He joined the US Navy and served his country from 1943-1946, stationed in Hawaii. He attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wapheton, ND. Robert married Marguerite Prodzinski on September 21, 1948, at Fried, ND. He was proudly employed by RM Stoudt Ford, Jamestown, for 63 years, including post-retirement. Robert was a member of Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and St. James Basilica.
Robert is remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He participated in amateur baseball, was an avid baseball fan and took great pride in his yard and garden. "Grandpa Bob" loved attending any events involving his grandchildren. His favorite vacation spot was Big Sky Lake in Montana.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Marguerite; children, Jerry (Colleen) Cebula, Missoula, MT, Judy (John) Stromstad, Bismarck, ND, Colleen (Kevin) Koehn, rural Jamestown, ND, Mary Kay (Tom) Lindberg, Jamestown; seven grandchildren, Whitney Deane, Fort Worth, TX, Heidi Lindberg, Jamestown, Jill Koehn, Plymouth, MN, Katie Stromstad, Bismarck, ND, Kellie Lindberg, Grand Forks, ND, Kirsten Stromstad, Fargo, ND, and Andrew Koehn, Fargo, two great grandchildren, DeShawn and Jayden Deane, Fort Worth, TX; four sisters, Susan Sorenson, Jamestown, Leona Thomas, Washburn, ND, Marian Wilma, Bakersfield, CA, and Marge (Charlie) Kourajian, Jamestown.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Celia Cebula, Rose Campbell and Helen Cebula; and four brothers, John, Alex, Joseph "Ralph", and Sam Cebula.
Eucharist of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown, with Father Al Bitz presiding.
Visitation: 3:00p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday, October 10, 2011 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Knights of Columbus Rosary: 6:30p.m., Monday, October 10, 2011 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 10, 2011 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown.
Family prefers memorials to Hospice of Jamestown Regional Medical Center or St. James Basilica.
