Robert Eberhardt

Robert Leroy Eberhardt, 81, Jamestown, ND passed away Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown.

Robert was born June 22, 1928 in Jamestown, the son of Ray and Grace (Wescom) Eberhardt. He grew up and attended school in Jamestown. He served in the military at Camp Rucker, Alabama with the 47th Viking Infantry Division from 1950-1952. In 1951 Robert married Jane Fredrickson at Camp Rucker. Upon discharge the couple returned to Jamestown where he worked as an auto mechanic and car saleman for many years before buying a bulk oil business in 1967. He owned and operated Eberhardt Oil Company for 25 years until retiring in 1993 at the age of 65.

Robert always took a special interest in his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed going to ballgames, especially watching the Eberhardt Oilers, car racing, and helping farm, where he particularly liked driving a Cat Challenger.

Robert is survived by his wife, Jane, Jamestown; his son, Pat (Julie), Jamestown; his daughter, Candy Wilson, Bismarck, ND; seven grandchildren, Melissa Benoit, Germany, Patricia (Nick) Hardy, Jamestown, Bobbi (Kelsey) Jablonsky, Dickinson, Josh Eberhardt, Jamestown, Jennifer (Ryan) Obrigewitch, Bismarck, Jeremy (Sarah) Wilson, Jamestown, and Jaimie (Craig) Davis, Jamestown; six great grandchildren, Brodie, Cole, Livia, Charlotte, Jozie, and Molly; and two brothers, Don (Laura), Jamestown and Duane (Mary), Topeka, KS.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Rich Fitzer and Pastor Leon Zavadil officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota
