Robert "B.J." Johansen

Robert Johansen, 70, Brandon, SD passed away, Wednesday, September 9 in Brandon, SD. He was born in Jamestown, ND on February 26, 1945, to Clifford and Nellie (Spiering) Johansen. He attended country school near Pingree, ND.
BJ married Marge Eckart, January of 1966 and they were blessed with two children, Lisa and Bob. He worked in road construction for Northern Improvement and for various farmers. He worked at the State Hospital in Jamestown, ND. Then he began his career in orthotics at the Anne Carlson Crippled Children's School in Jamestown, ND. He then decided to continue his education and attended UCLA and Northwestern after which he received his certification in orthotics. He moved to Fargo, ND then Advanced O & P in West Fargo, ND which had satellite offices in surrounding areas.
He married the love of his life, Sharon Haberman at Lysne Lutheran Church in Hawley, MN on August 18, 2001. He retired in 2006 and he and Sharon moved to Brandon, SD.
BJ's passion was spending time with his wife and family, browsing rummage sales, hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. His greatest joy was helping people overcome disabilities and making sure they were cared for.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon, Brandon, SD; children, Lisa (Richard) McCleary, Fargo, ND and Bob (Katie) Johansen, Sioux Falls, SD; three grandchildren, Nicholas Johnasen, Fargo, ND, Olivia Johansen, Sioux Falls, SD and Krista (Elton) Campbell, Mission Viejo, CA; sister, Marilyn Srozinski, Jamestown, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gordon; sister-in-law, Carol Johansen; and brother-in-law, Harold Srozinski.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 15 at Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Bryce Tahran, officiating.
Visitation: one hour before service at funeral chapel.
Burial: Pingree Cemetery.
