Robert ""Bob"" Frederick Kennison, 79, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008 in Jamestown.

Bob was born in Jamestown at the home of his parents, Frederick and Cecelia (Bowen) Kennison on February 3, 1929. He was baptized and made his first communion at St. James Basilica, and received his education at St. John's Academy and Jamestown Public Schools.

He enlisted in the National Guard 188th Field Artillery Battery C and was stationed at Camp Rucker, AL as a cook. He was later transferred to Salzburg, Austria as a bricklayer. He received an honorable discharge in the fall of 1952. Bob served a four year apprenticeship under Art Lee Masonry and was certified as journeyman brick layer by the Brick Layers Union. He later went to work for Moline Construction, helping to build many churches, schools, business places and public buildings in North and South Dakota.

Bob married Arlane Keller in August 1957. He went into business as Kennison Masonry designing and building many beautiful fireplaces, planters, and patios. Upon his retirement , he restored player pianos and collected over 3000 music rolls. Bob married Beverly Hall on August 6, 2008.

He loved his family, friends, music, cars, and telling jokes.

Bob is survived by his wife, Bev, Jamestown; son, James (Alison) Kennison, Jamestown; daughter, Katherine Kennison, Fountain Hills, AZ; grandchildren, Emily, Jared and Adele Kennison, Jamestown; two sisters, Lorraine Fairfield, Eldridge, ND and Dolly (Ernest) Theuerkauf, Bayside, CA; stepchildren, Dianne Dreiser, Jane, Charles and James Hall, step-grandchildren, Aubrey and Parker Hall, Gabe Dreiser; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Harvey Newton, Darrell Perry and Irene Demaray.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ralph; and two sisters, Anita Fischer and Betty Bowen Lockard.

He was under the care of Hospice and his wife.

Memorial Service: 2:00 PM, Monday, November 17, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bryce Tahran officiating.

Visition: None scheduled

Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Jamestown Hospital Hospice.
