Robert Liebelt, 90, Loma Linda, California, formerly of Jamestown, ND died Friday, July 1, 2005 at the Linda Valley Convalescent Hospital in Loma Linda.
Robert Liebelt, son of Karl and Christina (Reile) Liebelt, was born on a farm southwest of Cleveland, North Dakota on April 23, 1915. His formative years were spent going to school and working on the family farm.
On November 12, 1939 he married Sara Brenneise. Several months thereafter they established their own home southeast of Cleveland and began farming. In 1947 they bought and moved to their permanent farm home north of Medina, ND. They had one son, Lance, who helped with the farming. In the fall of 1977 Robert and his wife retired from farming and moved to Jamestown.
While in Jamestown he worked for the Dakota Conference for 13 years as Field Manager for writing wills and trusts.
Robert was a life long member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church both in Cleveland and in Jamestown. Through the years he was active in various offices including Elder. He loved his church and the opportunities it presented for helping others. While farming he was also active in civic affairs. His most loved hobby was singing in a male quartet which started when he was a teenager and continued until his death.
Robert is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Lance and Peggy Liebelt, Simi Valley, CA; two granddaughters, Amanda Rosaasen and Jodi Ramirez; one brother, Ben Liebelt, Longmont, CO and two sisters, Olga Hieb, Cleveland, ND and Delores Miller, Napoleon, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sara; two sisters, Esther Gruszie and Alice Reiswig and one brother, Art Liebelt.
Funeral Service: 7:00 PM, Monday, July 11, 2005 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Jamestown with Pastor David Stuart officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 3:00 PM, Monday, July 11, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota.
