Robert D. Olson, 72, Jamestown, North Dakota died Monday, July 17, 2006 at Jamestown Hospital in Jamestown.
Robert Dean Olson was born March 19, 1934 in Adrian Township, LaMoure County, North Dakota, the son of Connie and Lois (Witzig) Olson. He was baptized and confirmed at the Montpelier Lutheran Church. He attended school in Adrian where he also worked for his aunt and uncle at Meyer's Grocery. Bob entered the US Army on September 18, 1953 in Fargo, ND and was discharged on March 27, 1954. He worked at a number of places in Jamestown, including many years at R.M. Stoudt Ford, Lindberg Construction, as a bartender at the Elks Club and Big Jim Café and at the Select Inn. He married Edith Schwalk in June 1961. They later divorced.
Bob was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown and the Montpelier OK Senior Citizens Club. He liked doing volunteer work and could be found sharing his talents at the Senior Citizens Club #1 in Jamestown and at the church.
Bob is survived by two brothers, Donald (Marie) Olson, Montpelier and Roger (Adeline) Olson, McClusky, ND, one aunt and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Friday, July 21, 2006 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Doug Opp officiating.
Visitation: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Thursday, July 20, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.
Burial: Montpelier Cemetery, Montpelier, North Dakota.
