Robert J Sarbaum

Robert Sarbaum, 93, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Monday afternoon, May 28, 2018, at Eventide, Jamestown.

Robert was born July 12, 1924 at Pocahontas, Iowa, the son of Fred and Ann (Sperger) Sarbaum. The family moved Marion, ND before Robert began school. He attended Greenlund Public, where he graduated from high school. Robert helped on the family farm and worked for neighbors. He entered into the US Army on March 20, 1946 and served as an MP in California. After Robert was discharged on May 14, 1947, he returned to Marion and started farming for himself.

Robert married Myrna Holden on June 16, 1953 in the St. Frances Catholic Church in Marion, ND. They farmed at Marion and Montpelier for many years, retiring in 1981. They moved to Jamestown in 1981 and he worked for a couple of area farmers.

Robert is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and brother, Jack

Mass of Christian Burial : 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 4, 2018 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown, ND, with Father Robert Keller officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Williams Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND.
