Rodney Lee Davis, 48, Wimbledon, North Dakota died Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, North Dakota.
Rodney was born August 30, 1956 in Jamestown the son of Richard R. and Dorothy (Devine) Davis. He attended school in the Deer Lake and Buchanan Public Schools. He farmed with his parents on the family place in Deer Lake Township. He went to work at the ND State Hospital in 1999 and retired on October 3, 2004.
Rodney was a past member of the Pingree Lutheran Church, past board member of the Deer Lake Township Board and the Prairie Coop Elevator Board.
He enjoyed antique collecting, hunting, he loved the outdoors and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a special grandpa to all three of his grandchildren and Rodney was Lacey Lee's favorite Grandpa. Rodney always said that the wheels in Anthony's head were constantly turning, thinking of something to do and Brooke shared Grandpa Rodney's dark eyes. Rodney was a patient and compassionate man and he had the ability to see the needs of others and respected other people's dignity. Rodney had a wonderful sense of humor. He had a special fondness for his pets, Mickey and Misty.
Rodney is survived by his wife, Darlene of Wimbledon; two daughters, Burnett (Glen) Pfarr and Jordanne (Mark) Brekken, both of Jamestown; three stepchildren, Emily Wolff, Fargo, ND, Daniel Wolff, Bismarck, ND and Andrew Wolff, Wimbledon; three grandchildren, Lacey Lee, Anthony and Brooke; six brothers and sisters, Harvey (Rosemarie) Davis, Grand Rapids, MN, Marian (Paul) Wegener, Merrill, WI, Richard (Sharon) Davis, Glenfield, ND, Gayle Davies, San Francisco, CA, Craig (Deborah) Davis, Grand Forks, ND and Carol (Henry) Kaminski, El Granada, CA and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Megan in infancy.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 31, 2005 at St. John's United Methodist Church, Wimbledon, ND with Rev. Michael Ward officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Burial: Prairie View Cemetery, Wimbledon, North Dakota.
