Roger Bitz

Roger Bitz, 64, Jamestown, North Dakota went to be with the Lord, Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center, Jamestown.

Mr. Bitz was born October 31, 1946 in Jamestown, the son of Gotthielf and Violet (Aus) Bitz. He grew up west of Jamestown. Roger was a welder for many years, previously employed with Park Plaza. On August 17, 1973 Roger married Gloria (Elhard) Bitz in Jamestown. They were married for 38 years.

Roger loved the outdoors. He also helped his wife with child care for the family. He loved their great-nieces, Nicole Heil, Ashely, Alyssa, Alexis Gray, and the youngest one, Maddie Haakenson.

Roger is survived by his wife, Gloria; daughter, Angela, both of Jamestown; five sisters, Linda (Mike) Goodwin, Fargo, ND, Karen Liebold, Jamestown, Sharon (David) Bivens, Las Vegas, NV, Patsy Udell, Yuma, AZ and Kathy (Paul) Wiest, Jamestown; sisters-in-law, Jean Heil, Deborah (Larry) Morlock, mother-in-law, Betty Elhard, all of Jamestown; aunt Bernice Elhard; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Mike Fergus; and his cat, Charlie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; sister, Nancy Boyce; father-in-law, Ralph Elhard and several aunts and uncles.
