Roger Carlson

Roger Carlson, 80, Jamestown, ND died on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at Central Dakota Village, Jamestown, ND.

Roger Kenneth Carlson was born April 5, 1925 at Edgeley, ND the son of Carl Andrew and Emma (Olsen) Carlson. He attended Mickelson Township school, Jud High School and graduated from Ellendale High School in 1942. Following his graduation he worked on his grandparents farm and later on the Henry Carlson farm, both near Jud, ND. He married June Elhard on March 5, 1953 at Jamestown. They farmed at several farms near Jud before purchasing the Henry Carlson farm in 1968. They farmed there until 1984 and then moved into Jamestown. Roger worked as a custodian at St. John's Academy in Jamestown and later was the custodian at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown. June died in 1990 and he retired in 1991 and then became a resident of Central Dakota Village in 1993.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Jeanie (Brian) Toay, Winfield, Missouri and Arlys (Jerry) Mathern, Edgeley, ND; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; 6 sisters, Muriel (Orval) Rossow, Ellendale, ND, Colleen (John) Bliss, Yakima, WA, Edith Duden, Yucaipa, CA, Arlene Fode, San Bernardino, CA, Dorothy (Ronald) Zottnick, Albuquerque, NM and Norma (Loren) Hill, Wilbraham, MA; and 1 brother, Ronald (Karen) Carlson, Olympia, WA. His parents and wife preceded him in death.

Memorial Service: 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2006 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND.
Prayer Service: 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND.
Visitation: 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Lisko Funeral Chapel and 1 hour prior to services in the church on Friday.
Interment: Sunset Memorial Garden, Jamestown.
