Roger Leppert, 80, Dickey, ND, died Friday, November 13, 2009 at his home.

Roger Stanley Leppert was born August 8, 1929 on the family farm in Russel Township near Dickey, ND the son of Oscar and Ragna (Oleson) Leppert. He attended Russell Township School #2 and graduated from Edgeley High School in 1947. He farmed with his parents until attending Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis in 1959. Roger married Delores Nelson in Ossian, Iowa on October 3, 1959. They returned to live on the farm in Russell Township. In 1969 they moved to another farm near the first where they have lived and farmed since. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 2009.

Roger enjoyed working with his cattle. He was a history enthusiast, and especially enjoyed Native American History. He also enjoyed traveling to Montana and visiting his friends in the mountains and listening to polka music.

Survivors include his wife; 5 sons: Tim Leppert, Westminster, MD; Joel Leppert, Dickey, ND; Daniel (Annette) Leppert, Dickey, ND; Samuel (Laura) Leppert, Dazey, ND; Mark Leppert, Kathryn, ND; 25 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a sister, Inez Leppert, Dickey, ND and 1 brother, James Leppert, Butte, Montana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers: Harlan and Calen and 2 grandchildren.

Funeral Service: 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND.

Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND.

Visitation: 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND and 1 hour prior to services on Wednesday.

Interment: Martin Family Cemetery, Star Meadows Area, located near Whitefish, Montana.
