Roger Moser

Roger Moser, 81, Medina, North Dakota died Monday, May 30, 2011 at Jamestown Hospital.

Roger was born September 20, 1929 south of Medina, the son of Peter and Rachel (Opp) Moser. He was raised and attended school in Medina, graduating from Medina High School in 1948. He entered the US Army on October 2, 1951 and served in Korea. He was honorably discharged on September 22, 1953 and returned to North Dakota. He married Darlene Fauth in April 1954. They lived several years in Jamestown, then moved back to Medina in 1957. Roger worked for Medina Farmers Union from 1957 to 1973. In 1973, they moved to Kulm, ND where Roger was employed as manager of the Farmers Union Oil Company from 1973 to 1985. Darlene passed away in April 1984. They had three children together. Roger married Cherry Rau-Powers on March 15, 1985 in Elko, NV. They lived in California for three years before returning to Medina in November 1988. Roger and Cherry built and operated C & R Dairy Treat in Medina, from 1989 to 2003, when they sold out and retired.

Roger was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, the American Legion and a constituent member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, playing bingo and visiting with his friends.

Roger is survived by his wife, Cherry, Medina; two children, Carmen Moser, Bennet, NE and Kenneth (Dale) Moser, Bakersfield, CA; one stepdaughter, Leslie (Carl) Rucker, Fernandina Beach, FL; three stepsons, Michael Powers, Sacramento, CA, Ryan (Scheryl) Powers, Castro Valley, CA and Patrick (Diane) Powers, Redwood City, CA; one grandson, Trevor Cochrane; 13 step-grandchildren; one step-great grandchild; and two sisters, Phyllis Hochhalter, Jamestown and Shirley (Rodney) Hanson, Las Vegas, NV.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Darlene; daughter, Denise, one brother and one sister.
