Ronald Liudahl

Ronald D. Liudahl, 59, South Bend, Indiana, formerly of Kensal, North Dakota, died Monday, November 27, 2006 at his residence.

Mr. Liudahl was born August 18, 1947 in Esmond, North Dakota, the son of Harold and Agnes (Holand) Liudahl. He grew up in the Carrington and Kensal, ND area, graduating from Kensal High School in 1965. He joined the US Army on November 14, 1966 and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was discharged from Ft. Dix, NJ on October 25, 1968. Ron married Judith K. Palmer on October 18, 1969 in Courtenay, ND. He worked at various jobs throughout the years, including; oil rigger, steel operator, lineman for Ottertail County, salesman for Buffalo Candy (1969-1973), grain inspector for Jamestown Grain, Inc. and Grand Forks Grain (1973-2001), self-employed as a vinyl siding applicator (2201-2004) and most recently as the maintenance technician for various apartment complexes in South Bend.

Ron was Commander of the American Legion Post 103 in Kensal, President of the Dakota Anglers and the ND Sportfishing Congress, honorary lifetime member of the Jamestown Rural Fire Department, an instructor for the ND Game & Fish Hunter Safety Education course, Pathways to Fishing, ND Game & Fish Aquatic Education and Hooked on Fishing-Not on Drugs and a member of the Sportfishing Association and Future Fisherman Foundation.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards.

Ron is survived by his wife, Judith of South Bend, IN; his mother, Agnes T. Liudahl, Jamestown; one daughter, Stephanie R. (Jason) Harr of Edwardsburg, MI; two granddaughters, Katherine and Rebecca Harr; one step grandson, Nicholas Harr; one brother, Keith (Beth) Liudahl, Kensal, ND and one sister, Leeann (Jeff) Nelson, Perley, MN.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Memorial Service: 10:30AM, Saturday, December 2, 2006 at Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown with Rev. Tom Eckstein officiating.

Prayer Service: 7:30 PM, Friday, December 1, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.

Wake Service: 4:00PM - 6:00PM, Saturday, December 2, 2006 at the Anchor Bar, Jamestown.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
