Ronald Perleberg

Ronald Perleberg, 59, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Jamestown Hospital in Jamestown, following a short term battle with cancer.

Ron Perleberg was born August 23, 1949 in Jamestown, North Dakota, the son of Arthur, Sr. and Alice (Enzminger) Perleberg. He grew up in Jamestown and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1967. The fall of 1967 he joined the National Guard and went to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri for Basic Training. He served for eight years with an honorable discharge in 1975. Ron married Charlene Nelson on September 23, 1972 at St. James Catholic Church in Jamestown. He farmed with his dad and later with his sons up until his passing.

Ron enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting elk in Montana, and spending time with all the kids. He enjoyed his coffee groups and always had a way to make his friends laugh and smile. He also enjoyed checking the crops daily with his best friend Ozzie, his yellow lab. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and United Sportsmen. In 1980 he became a special deputy and while retired from the deputies, he was always ready to lend aid when called upon.

Ron is survived by his wife, Char, Jamestown; three sons, Eric, Darren, and Tyler; his mother, Alice; one brother and sister-in-law, Arthur Jr. and Gerry Perleberg; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Virgil Greer, all of Jamestown; his best friend Merle Weatherly, Jamestown; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, great grandnieces and nephews, several cousins, and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Sr. and his brother, Jerome.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Jamestown Hospital Hospice, St. John's Lutheran Church or United Sportsmen.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Monday, October 27, 2008 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Ruth Kaden officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 5:30 PM, Sunday, October 26, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Sunday, October 26, 2008 at St. John's Lutheran Church.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
