Ronald Rewald

October 27, 1951 — March 29, 2023

Ronald Earl Rewald was born October 27, 1951 to Edna (Peda) and Ewald Rewald in Jamestown, ND. He grew up on his parents’ farm north of Woodworth, ND. Ron was baptized and confirmed at Trinity New Home church. Ron attended Ova School, a one room schoolhouse near his parents’ farm, through second grade. When Ova School closed, he attended Woodworth Public School, and graduated from Woodworth High School in 1969. He obtained a civil engineering technology degree from NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND, and worked in construction until 1975, helping to build Pipestem Dam and the McClusky canal. Ron married Robin Torgerson June 14, 1974, and in the coming years, they had two children. In 1975, Ron began farming with his father-in-law, Tuffy Torgerson, near Pettibone ND, and over the next several decades he raised registered Polled Hereford, Red Angus, and Gelbvieh cattle. Ron participated on a number of community boards in Pettibone, including the school board, Farmers Union board, and in his church. He was a member of the volunteer fire department for many years. He enjoyed playing pinochle in town, where you could often find him with his favorite snacks, a 3 Musketeer bar and Coors Light in a bottle. Ron had a great sense of humor and was always ready with a pun or sarcastic clip, even in his last days. Always looking for the humor in any situation, he enjoyed laughing and liked to make others laugh. Ron enjoyed participating in sports throughout his life. As a young boy, he played basketball, but loved baseball even more. When he was older, he played on the Woodworth softball team, creating some of his favorite lifelong memories. Throughout his life he also enjoyed being a part of a bowling team and golfing with friends. He was an avid and loyal Minnesota Twins fan for better and worse. He loved to talk baseball with his grandsons and attended their games whenever possible. One of his favorite memories was taking all of his grandsons to see the Minnesota Twins play in Minneapolis. Ron passed away on March 29, 2023 at the age of 71. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edna (Peda) and Ewald Rewald, father-in-law Tuffy Torgerson and mother-in-law Jan (Kaczmarski) Torgerson. He will be greatly missed by his wife Robin (Torgerson) Rewald, children Rachel (Gregory) Mason and Joe (Jennifer) Rewald, siblings Alice (Rodney) Meske and Tom Rewald, grandchildren Sarah Mason, Noah Mason, Hannah Mason, Isaiah Mason, Ezrah Mason, Jack Rewald, and Connor Rewald, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A Memorial service for Ron will be held April 10, 10:30 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Woodworth, ND, with Rev.
