Ronald J. Walks, 66, Jamestown, North Dakota died Thursday, October 25, 2007 at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Ronald was born October 9, 1941 in Wimbledon, ND the son of Floyd R. and Lorraine (McDaniels) Walks. He grew up and attended school in the Wimbledon area. Ronald enlisted in the US Army in October 1958 and spent four years overseas and later re-enlisted in June 1969 where he served in the Vietnam conflict until his honorable discharge on June 29, 1972. On October 30, 1981 Ronald married Betty J. Strobel in Aberdeen, SD. Ronald worked at the North Dakota State Hospital in the heating plant for 26 years.
He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Jamestown. Ronald enjoyed woodworking and playing pinochle.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Betty, of Jamestown; one son, Ronald F. Walks, Neumarkt, Germany; six step-children, Betty (James) Rezac, Ft. Worth, TX, James (Lisa) Harter, Las Vegas, NV, Steven (Kelly) Harter, New Smyrna Beach, FL, Judy (James) Ronngren, Jamestown, ND, Susan (Larry) Beck, West Palm Beach, FL and Patty Dahl (Steve Moos); 18 grandchildren; one brother, Larry L. Walks, West Germany and three sisters, Carol (Francis) Cox, Ellendale, ND, Paty (Delbert) Barningham, Red Falls, MN and Rosemary (Louis) Beyer, Marion, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Service: 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 1, 2007 at the Temple Baptist Church with Pastors Randy Jaspers and Bryce Tahran officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial: North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, North Dakota.
