Ronald Wanzek, Sr.

Ronald Henry Wanzek, Sr., 84, passed away November 29,
2010 at Sanford Palliative Care Unit, Fargo,
ND.

Ronald was born November 23, 1926 in Windsor Township,
the son of Vincent and Agnes (Kerber) Wanzek Sr. He attended St. John's Academy
and later farmed with his father.

On
October 7, 1950 he married Lorene Wegner, the daughter of Gottfried and Bertha
Wegner. They lived on his parents' farm for a year until 1951 when they purchased
a farm in Moon Lake Township.
They farmed and lived on the farm until 1976, when they moved to Jamestown. Ronald continued to farm with his sons Ron
and Randy until 2004. They operated a
dairy farm until 1974 and then concentrated on small grains and beef cattle.

He was active in St. Mathias Parish in Windsor
as a trustee and later a member of St. James Basilica, Jamestown.
He also served as treasurer of Moon Lake Township, held other township offices
and was a lifetime member of the Knight of Columbus.

Lorene passed away January 15, 2008. He is survived by 4 children: Ron Jr. (Terry
Lynn), rural Jamestown; Randy (Dee), Jamestown; Sharon (Lynn) Waleri,
Jamestown; Roger (Pamela), Oceanside, CA; 8 grandchildren: Liza (Fred) Wolff,
Jamestown; Markell (Matt) Olmstead, Fargo; Justin (Kelly) Wanzek, Fargo;
Brandee (Brad) Keller, Minot; Mitchell (Alicia Bryant) Wanzek, Jamestown; Ross
Waleri, Jamestown; Lindsey Wanzek, Bismarck; Cody Waleri, Portal, ND; 9
great-grandchildren: Brody and Henry Wolff, Jamestown; Amelia "Mia" Olmstead,
Fargo; Macy and Bailey Wanzek, Fargo; Alex, Zachary and Rylan Keller, Minot;
Hadley Wanzek, Jamestown; 2 brothers: Marvin (Donna) Jamestown; Richard
(Alice), Jamestown; a sister, Dorothy
Flynn, Moorhead, MN; a brother-in-law, John Maddock; 3 sisters-in-law: Dorothy
Wanzek; Virginia Wanzek; Janet Wanzek and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers:
Jerome, Casimer "Kyke", Leo, Vincent Jr; Alphonous and two sisters: Virginia
Weckman and Isabel Maddock.

Ronald especially enjoyed his grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. His faith sustained
him throughout his life.
