Ronald "Ron" Schwind

Ronald “Ron” Schwind, 75, Jamestown, ND died Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at his home, under JRMC hospice care.
Ronald was born to Melvin and Erna (Reich) Schwind at home in Mcintosh County on August 29, 1947, delivered by his grandmother. He was baptized at New Kessel Reformed Church, Zeeland, ND and confirmed at Grace Reformed Church in Wishek, ND. He attended school in Ashely ND through the 8th grade. He entered the Army National Guard in Carrington ND in 1966 with an Honorable discharge in 1972.  He married Dianna Remmick of Jamestown on April 5, 1968 at the United Presbyterian Church in Jamestown.  They had 2 sons, Todd and Chad.

In 1995 he met Cheryl Wieglenda, spending the last 27 years enjoying life together taking trips and putting lots of miles riding their Harleys, they also enjoyed taking casino trips.  After moving to Jamestown, he worked for Schwind Construction and HayBuster Mfg.

Ron started in first business K.A.S. Mfg. in the early 80’s. He later re-named it Weld-Rite Welding & Repair which he owned/operated for the last 35 years that consisted of custom welding projects, custom hay grinding, seed cleaning and tree spade service.  One of his most prized accomplishments was the design and manufacturing of Mini campers for motorcycles.
He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, camping, stock car racing and riding his Harley.
He is survived by two sons, Todd (Susan), Everett, WA. Chad (Mari), Bismarck, ND; granddaughters, Chelsea Schwind, Kadence Schwind, Lillian Schwind and Abigail Ferguson. Grandsons, Karson Schwind, Austin Vik-Rae, Rylee & Joseph Ferguson.  Mother Erna Schwind, one brother Jeff (Michele) Schwind, three sisters, Karon (Tom) Steckler, Sylvia (Don) Williams all from Jamestown, Renee (Jamie) Edwards, Adrian, ND. and seventeen nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin; two brothers, Donald and Todd; one sister, Karol; and a nephew Donald, Jr.

Family committal service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 7, 2022 at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
