Rosanne Albrecht, 86, Jamestown, ND, died Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Meritcare Hospital, Fargo, ND.
Rosanne Elizabeth Palmer was born January 21, 1923 in McKinley Township near Kensal, ND, the daughter of William F. and Mary (Lentz) Palmer. She moved with her parents to a farm north of Courtenay, ND where she was raised and where she attended school. She then attended St. John's Academy in Jamestown for 1 year and graduated from high school at Sacred Heart Academy in Fargo in 1941. She received 1 year nursing training at Trinity Hospital in Jamestown before moving to Minneapolis to work in the Federal Cartridge defense plant. Rosanne returned to North Dakota and taught school in Ashland Township (near Spiritwood Lake, ND) for 1 year. Rosanne married Paul Albrecht at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Wimbledon, ND on February 12, 1945. They lived on the Albrecht family farm for 1 year following the marriage and then purchased their own farm in Ashland Township where they lived until moving to Jamestown in 1982. Paul died March 14, 1991. Rosanne worked as a Rural Mail Carrier from 1974 until retiring in 1994.
Rosanne was a member of The Basilica of St. James, Jamestown, ND, the Jamestown Eagles Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary of Wimbledon, ND, St. James Tabernacle Society and Immaculate Conception Circle. She had been a member of the Ashland Township Homemakers. She had also been a 4-H leader for 6 hears and a Farmers Union Youth Leader for 15 years. She was a past president of the St. Boniface Altar Society and a past member of the Ashland-Courtenay School Boards for 25 years and had been the secretary of the ND Muzzel Loaders Association and had been the ND Muzzel Loaders Ladies State Champion for 10 years. Rosanne also enjoyed crocheting, crafts, gardening and playing cards.
Survivors include 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Yvonne (James) Szarkowski, Jamestown, ND, Ann (Ron) Kern, Wimbledon, ND, Diane Albrecht, Sparks, Nevada, Mary Albrecht, Bismarck, ND; 1 son Dennis, Courtenay, ND; 16 grandchildren 14 great grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Sister Mary Palmer, Fargo, ND and Teresa Borth, Jamestown, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 daughter Margaret, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Visitation - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND.
Interment - St. Boniface Cemetery Wimbeldon, ND.
