Rose Feckler, 89, Jamestown, ND died on Sunday, July 6, 2008 at Manor St. Joseph Home, Edgeley, ND.
Rose Elizabeth Ann Feckler was born May 31, 1919 at Kensal, ND, the daughter of Anton and Helena (Albrecht) Feckler. She was raised and attended school in Kensal. When she was only a 7th grader, Rose began working at Kensal Implement Company with her father, doing general tasks and learning bookkeeping. When her father became ill in 1934, Rose managed the office handling the ordering, annual inventory, collection of accounts, weekly reports and other responsibilities. She attended Kensal High School where she began the National Youth Administration in 1935. She graduated in May of 1936. After high school, she attended Interstate Business College in Fargo, ND from 1936-1937. She returned to Jamestown where she worked briefly for the Knauf & Knauf Law Firm in 1937, the Stutsman County Welfare Board from 1937-1939 and the Resettlement Administration (later know as the Farmer's Home Administration) from 1939-1976. While working for the Resettlement Administration she was transferred to the Bismarck office in 1941 and the Minot office in 1942 and returned to Jamestown in 1943. In 1976, she began working for the Community Credit Union where she worked until 1983. Rose became a resident of Manor St. Joseph, Edgeley, ND in April, 2006.
Rose was a member of St. James Basilica, a Lifetime Member of St. James Tabernacle Society, the Legion of Mary, and was an active member of the Stutsman County Memorial Museum.
Survivors include a nephew, Lowell Feckler, Minneapolis, MN; great-nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a half-sister, Sister Rose Anthony, and half-brothers, Max, Richard and Wilfred Feckler.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Manor St. Joseph, Edgeley, ND.
Prayers Service: 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND.
Visitation: 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND and 1 hour prior to services at Manor St. Joseph on Thursday.
