Rose Marie (Wanzek) Gonser, was born in Jamestown, ND on May 11, 1931 to Peter and Martha Wanzek. She died peacefully, after a brief illness on February 4, 2016 in California. Rosie graduated from high school at St. John's Academy in Jamestown and moved to California in the late fifties. While Rosie worked as a secretary at Rockwell International, she earned her B.S. degree in Business Management from the University of La Verne, in La Verne, CA. Rosie met Rick while they were both working on the Space Shuttle program. She was proud of her role as a Trouble Shooter for the tiles on the Space Shuttle. Rosie and Rick were married in 1981. They moved to their home in El Dorado Park area of Long Beach, CA. Rosie was active with the Lakewood YMCA Silver Sneakers and she loved Water Volleyball.
She is survived by her husband, Rick; her sisters, Mary (Bill) Winberg of Moorhead, MN, Helen Seher of Bend, OR, Carol (RDell) Froemke of Fort Collins, CO; brothers, Stanley, Fargo, ND, Raymond (Annette), Windsor, ND, Tom (Rae), Moorhead, and Mark, Jamestown; brother-in-law, Neil Falck, Fargo, and many nieces and nephews.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Patricia Falck; brothers, James and baby brother, Joseph; brother-in-law, Duane Seher; sisters-in-law, Edna Wanzek, Irene Wanzek, Jean Wanzek; nephews Mark Seher and Christopher Wanzek; and niece, Sandra Froemke.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 20, 2016 at St. Mathias Catholic Church, Windsor.
Interment: St. Pauline's Cemetery, Windsor.
