Rose Meidinger, 91, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home in Jamestown.
Rose Hofmann was born April 14, 1918 in Iosco Township, near Medina, North Dakota, the daughter of Peter and Lydia (Stohr) Hofmann, Sr. She attended a country school north of Medina. On May 12, 1938 Rose married Adolph Meidinger in Medina. They lived in the Medina area until 1970, when they moved to Jamestown. She worked at the North Dakota State Hospital and various other jobs until beginning her employment at Lucas Western Gear in 1972. She worked there as a laborer for 22 years, retiring in 1994.
Rose is survived by two daughters, Janet (Allan) Rogneby, Bismarck, ND and Sharon (Kermith) Schlecht, Streeter, ND; one son, Keith Meidinger, Sr.; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Fred (Laverna) Hofmann, Medina; one sister, Leah (Vernon) Hins, Jamestown; one sister-in-law, Janice Hofmann, Medina; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; an infant son, Donald; six brothers, Jacob, Peter, Jr., Reinhold, Rudolph, Benjamin and Reno; and three sisters, Sophie, Martha and Bertha.
