Rose M Miller

Rose Miller, 88, Edgeley, ND, formerly Vernonia, OR, and Shelton, WA died in Jamestown, ND on September 23, 2006.

Rose Marie Innonen was born January 28, 1918 at Gwinn, Michigan, the daughter of Jacob and Aliina Innonen. She attended country school and graduated from Gwinn Michigan High School in 1936. Rose worked in the Gwinn area until moving to Raymond, WA, in 1940 where she met and married Charles C.E.‘Ed' Miller on August 24, 1940. Her husband worked in the ship yards and she worked as spotter for incoming enemy planes during WW2. After WW2 they moved to Eureka, CA, and were employed in the shingle and shake industry. They purchased the Cedarwood Timber Co. of Vernonia, OR, and operated that for 35 years before her husband passed away August 24, 1982. She lived in Vernonia for many years, until moving to Shelton, WA, to be by her family. She later moved to Edgeley, to again be near her daughter and family.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan (Arlan) Burkman, Edgeley, ND, 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Burton, Johnson, VT, Holly, Katie, and Adam Burkman, all Edgeley, ND and 1 great granddaughter, Madison Sitzmann, Edgeley, ND. Her parents, sister and husband preceded her in death.

Rose was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Edgeley, ND and was an Eastern Star member. She enjoyed reading, flower gardening, music and
Spending every summer at the beach at Astoria, OR. But most importantly,
was spending time with her grandchildren and watching her great granddaughter grow.


Funeral Service: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 30, 2006 at Manor St. Joseph, Edgeley, ND.
No Visitation
Interment: At a later date in Oregon.
