Rose Marie Nihill, 75, of Jamestown, ND, died Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Eventide at Hi-Acres, Jamestown.

Rose Marie Beach was born November 6, 1936, in Edgeley, ND, the daughter of Floyd and Mabel (Larsen) Beach. She graduated from Juanita High School, Juanita, ND, and attended Valley City State Teachers College and Concordia College, Moorhead, MN. Rose taught in country schools and at Kensal School. She married John "Jack" Nihill on August 11, 1962 at St. John's Catholic Church, Kensal, ND. They made their home in the Jamestown area and Rose worked for the Anne Carlsen School for Children for many years. They moved to Jamestown in 2007 and Jack died on September 23, 2008.

Rose was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Ladies Aid and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She enjoyed her flower beds, scrap-booking and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Rose is survived by 4 children: Tina (Larry) Wagner, Valley City, ND; Jackie (Steve) Fisher, Ypsilanti, ND; Amy (Duane) Kastet, Ypsilanti, ND; Eric (Amy) Nihill, Jamestown, ND; a son-in-law, Lenus Berge, Ypsilanti, ND; a daughter-in-law, Cyndy (Scott Westergaard) Nihill, Bismarck, ND; 11 grandchildren: Robert Wagner, Nicholas Wagner, Anthony Fisher, Mindy (Eric) Hochhalter, Austin (Rachel) Kastet, Lacey Kastet, Andrew Nihill, Jessica Nihill, Olivia Nihill, Alexandra Nihill, Elizabeth Nihill; 1 great-grandchild, Kale Fisher; 1 sister, Yvonne (Wick) Larson, Carrington, ND; and 2 sisters-in-law, Birdella Beach, Jamestown, and Diana Beach, Kirkland, WA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; a son, Jon; a daughter, Linda; and two brothers, Bernard and Merle.

Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Kensal, ND.

Prayer Service : 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

Interment: St. John's Cemetery, Kensal, ND.
