Rose Reeck, 94, Fargo, ND, formerly of Wimbledon, ND, died Friday, November 23, 2007 at Bethany Cares, Fargo, ND.
Rose Harriet Sabinash was born April 7, 1913 at Fried, ND, the daughter of Michael and Rose (Kulink) Sabinash. She was raised and attended school at Fried. After her schooling, she worked as a housekeeper for families in the Fried area. On June 20, 1943, she married Oscar Reeck at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Wimbledon, ND and they settled on a farm in Ashland Township, north of Spiritwood Lake. When Oscar died on September 16, 1985, Rose moved to Wimbledon, ND. On April 11, 1995, she married Tony Schwalk. Tony died in 2000. In 2003, Rose entered Bethany Cares Nursing Home in Fargo, ND.
Rose was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed playing cards, quilting and crocheting. She made the funeral pall used at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Wimbledon. After moving to the nursing home, she enjoyed playing bingo.
Survivors include 4 children: Olivia (Robert) Hatzenbihler, Mandan, ND; Daniel Reeck, Staples, MN; Patricia (Gary) Redlin, Hickson, ND; Robert (Marlene) Reeck, Staples, MN; 7 step-children: Dorothy Stampka, Aurora, CO; Marion Stampka, Jamestown, ND; Bernard Reeck, White Bear Lake, MN; Jim Schwalk, MT; Irene Page, Jamestown, ND; Donald Schwalk; Duane Schwalk; 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters: Ann Schmidt, Worthington, MN and Josephine Dent, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, 2 brothers, 2 step-brothers and a step-son, Harold.
Funeral - 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2007 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Wimbledon, ND with Father Steve Meyer officiating.
Prayer Service - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2007 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Wimbledon, ND
Visitation - noon to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2007 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND
