Rosanne Gengler Arlington, 60, Houston, TX, originally from Fried, ND, died Thursday, May, 14, 2009 at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX.

Rosanne Marie Gengler was born August 31, 1948 in Jamestown, ND, the daughter of Joseph and Alice (Peters) Gengler. She was raised on the family farm in Fried, ND and attended Buchanan High School, graduating in 1966. She attended Jamestown College where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1970. She moved to Texas where she taught at Texas Women's University. She later earned a Master's Degree in Orthopedic Nursing, specializing in Spinal Cord Injuries through the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Houston where she also worked for 8 years. She then went to work for Methodist Hospital in Houston and later MD Anderson Cancer Center, also in Houston.

Rosanne was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Houston and a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fried, ND. She was a member of The National Association of Orthopedic Nurses and active on the Texas Board of Nursing and she wrote questions for National nursing board exams. She was also a member of many nursing committees in the Houston area. Rosanne was very involved with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and was a proud soccer grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter, Heather (Brian) Stein, Houston, TX; a grandson, David Baxter, Houston, TX; 2 brothers: Robert (Sharon) Gengler, Jamestown, ND; Alan (Brenda) Gengler, Big Stone City, SD; a sister, Joanne (Don) Lorenz, Jamestown, ND and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral - 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Sacred Heart Church at Sunset Memorial Garden, Jamestown, ND

Prayer Service - 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2009 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND

Visitation - 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2009 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND

Interment - Sacred Heart Cemetery, Fried, ND
