Rosemary (Rosie) M. Beyer, 68, formerly of Adrian, ND, died peacefully at Sanford Health in Bismarck, surrounded by her family on April 26, 2016.
Rosie was born June 3, 1947 to Floyd and Lorraine (McDaniel) Walks in Wimbledon, ND. She was the youngest of 5. She worked in her parents' Café in Wimbledon, and at the Truck Stop in Jamestown, ND where she met Louie Beyer. They were married on June 4, 1966 in West Fargo and made their home there before moving to Montana, where three of their daughters were born. They moved back to North Dakota, added another daughter to their family, and eventually settled in Adrian, ND.
Rosie was sick with French Polio (Guillain-Barre syndrome) in 1975 and was told she would never walk again. She proved them wrong when she walked out of the hospital with only the aid of a few canes that were later discarded as well.
Rosie's hobbies included gardening and canning, as well as crafting. She enjoyed working with leather and canvas stitching.
Rosie lost her husband in 2007, but remained on "the farm" until 2013 when she moved to Jamestown.
Rosie is survived by: her daughters Lorrie (Loren) Nantt of Dickinson, Sandy (Ryan) Dally of Montpelier, Sally (Jon) Carlson of Forest River, and Shelly (Todd Thoreson) Smith of Marion. her grandchildren Alexis, Hannah, and Grace Nantt, Kathryn, Allison, and MaKenzie Knight, Zachary Dally, Sadie Beyer, Garrett Carlson, and Raymond, Codie, and Morgan Smith, and one great granddaughter, Harmony Rose Huisenga. She is also survived by her brother Larry (Heidi) Walks, sister Carol Cox, sister Patty (Delbert) Barningham, sister-in-law Sally Gersey, and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. Rosie was a loving mom, wife, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Louie, brother Jackie Walks, brother-in-law Fran Cox, sisters-in-law Dorothy Dally and Margie Froehlich, nephew Ron Farthing, and her parents.
Funeral service: 10:00 AM, Friday, April 29 at United Methodist Church, Dickey, ND with Pastor Mark Turner, officiating.
Visitation: one hour before service at church.
Burial: Dickey Cemetery.
