Ross A. Headland

Ross Andrew George Headland, 77, Medina, North Dakota, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at MedCenter One in Bismarck, ND.

Ross was born May 27, 1931 in Jud, ND, the son of Ross and Marvel (Johnson) Headland. He grew up and attended school in the Jud area. On September 29, 1951 Ross married Erna Walker at St. John's Lutheran Church in Jamestown. They farmed in the Adrian, ND area until they moved to California in 1963. They returned to North Dakota and farmed until they sold the farm in September 1975. Ross worked at various places until they moved to Medina. He bought Medina Plumbing and Heating which he owned and operated until his retirement in 2003.

Ross was a member of English Lutheran Church in Medina. He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his family.

Ross is survived by his wife, Erna, Medina; one son, Ron Headland, Medina; two daughters, Jolene (Randy) Schatz, Loveland, CO and Gaylene (Richard) Roerick, Harvey, ND; five grandchildren, Ryan Schatz, Derek (Codi) Schatz, Talli Schatz, Lindsey (Scott) Sorensen and Quintin Roerick; one great-grandchild, Brayden Schatz; one sister, Lorraine Derby, Jamestown and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Delores Williams; and two brothers-in-law, Almon Williams and Irving Derby.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 7, 2008 at English Lutheran Church, Medina, ND with Pastor Chris Hogstad officiating.

Visitation: 2:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, June 6, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Friday, June 6, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota.
