Ross Patrick Meidinger

Ross Patrick Meidinger, 17, Marion, North Dakota died Thursday, August 2, 2007 from injuries sustained in a tragic automobile accident near Marion.

Ross was born February 28, 1990 in Valley City, ND, the son of Randy and Vickie (Smedshammer) Meidinger. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Litchville, ND. Ross attended elementary and high school at Litchville-Marion and was going to be a high school junior. This summer he worked for the LaMoure County Highway Department.

In 2005 Ross was a member of LaMoure State Babe Ruth Team Champion and in 2006 & 2007 he received honorable mention to the High School Class B Baseball All Region I Team. He also participated in the state track meet as an 8th grader.

Ross was an honor student, a class officer, a member of the student council, the Science Olympiad, and a member of the band. He played on the basketball, football and baseball teams and participated in track. He also played American Legion baseball in the summer. Ross belonged to the Farmers Union, Lutheran Youth Organization, and the Litchville-Marion Youth Fellowship.

Ross enjoyed playing his Play Station 2, drawing, collecting baseball cards, golfing, fishing, and playing cards.

Ross is survived by his parents, Randy & Vickie Meidinger of Marion; two sisters, Katherine (Michael) Kalcevic, Baltimore, MD and Randa Meidinger, Marion; maternal grandparents, Curtis & Phyllis Smedshammer, LaMoure, ND; paternal grandmother, Caroline Meidinger, Ashley, ND; his godparents, David Bollinger, Lehr, ND and Bradley and VaNita Rodin, Marion, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Norman Meidinger and great-grandparents, Albert and Edna Pollert, Martin and Esther Smedshammer, Emil & Hulda Meidinger and Fred and Margaret Bollinger.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Monday, August 6, 2007 at the Marion Public School with Pastor Lucinda Nygard-Lien officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 5, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown and 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the First Lutheran Church in Litchville, ND.
