Roy Nustad

Roy Nustad, 86, of Jamestown, ND died Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown. Roy Nustad was born June 27, 1918 in Bonetrail, ND to Edward and Minnie (Stigen) Nustad. He grew up on a farm near Grenora, ND. Roy graduated from Grenora High School. On September 26, 1941 Roy married Hazel Trulson in Plentywood, MT. He continued to farm with his family until moving to farm south of Jamestown in 1959. They lived in Montpelier, ND for a short time, then returned to the farm south of Jamestown. They farmed there until 1986 when they moved to Jamestown. Hazel died June 1, 2002.

He served on the Grenora School Board and Montpelier Lutheran Church Board, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Sons of Norway. Roy enjoyed music, especially polka.

He is survived by four sons, Gary of Jamestown, Robert (Carol) of Jamestown, Billy (Marcia) of Fargo, and Don (Corinne) of Moorhead, MN; one daughter, Barbara (Eldon) Huether of Cloquet, MN; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Leslie (Adeline) Nustad, Hayden, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, four brothers, Steve, Harry, Lindahl and Morris, one sister, Palma Nelson and one infant sister.

Funeral Service: Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Pastor Terry Anderson officiating.

Visitation: Friday, July 23, 2004 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
