Ruby Anna Alvina Ernie, 91, Wimbledon, North Dakota, died peacefully Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at her home, under hospice care.
Ruby Anna Alvina Joos was born February 2, 1919 in Wimbledon, North Dakota, the daughter of A.L. Louis and Laura (Rumer) Joos. She graduated from Uxbridge High School in 1938. On February 23, 1945 Ruby married Warren H. Ernie at the Methodist Parsonage in Wimbledon. Ruby was active in all areas of the farming operation with her husband.
Ruby was a member of the United Methodist Women for many years as an officer on both the local and district level and a Sunday School and Bible School teacher. She was a member of the Uxbridge Homemakers for years, active in the Good Sams for 25 years and a band parent in the 1960's.
Ruby enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, traveling, gardening, ceramics and other crafts and especially spending time with her family and friends.
Ruby is survived by her husband, Warren, Wimbledon, ND; one son, Doug (Kathy) Ernie, Hudson, WI; two granddaughters, Jenny (Ryan) Ernie-Steighner and Debbie Ernie, both of Hudson, WI; sister-in-law, Georgene McKenzie, Wimbledon, ND; an aunt, Elizabeth Christ, Jamestown, ND; nieces & nephews, Laurene (Jim) Grabowski, Longmont, CO, Andrew (Lori) Joos, Wimbledon, ND and Kathy (Dallas) Strand, Renton, WA.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Andrew L.P. Joos.
