Ruth H. Evert

Ruth H. Evert, 96, of Edgeley, ND, died Saturday, December 4, 2010 at St. Rose Care Center, LaMoure, ND.

Ruth H. Evert was born July 31, 1914, in Edgeley, ND, the daughter of Ralph and Sibyl (Covington) Hall. She graduated from Edgeley High School and attended Jamestown College and Southern Teachers Normal, Springfield, SD. Ruth also attended Minneapolis Business College and completed Library Science Courses at Ellendale Teachers' College. She taught at Willowbank Country School, near Edgeley, and later worked as a bookkeeper at Standard Oil Co., Fargo, ND. Ruth and Dennis Evert were married on July 22, 1942 in Edgeley, ND. She was librarian for the Edgeley Public Library, then became Regional Librarian for the South Central Area Library in 1958. She and Dennis helped to build the present facilities at Edgeley Country Club. Dennis died on March 10, 2005.

Ruth was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley, enjoyed playing golf, was active member of the Edgeley community, and enjoying 3pm coffee time with family and friends. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by one son, Fred (Julie) Evert, LaMoure, ND; four grandchildren, Elizabeth (Darin) Karnes, Emily (Matthew) Hebl, Kyle Evert and Jordon Evert; five great-grandchildren, Brent, Taylor Ann, Allie, Garrett, and Cael; and one sister, Dorothy Neis, Edgeley, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two daughters, Andrea and Kathryn; and one sister, Jean Hall.

Funeral Service: 2:00PM, Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at the Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley, ND.

Visitation: 1:00p.m. to 8:00p.m., Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND.

Burial: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND.
