Ruth Schulz, 93, Jamestown, ND, died peacefully with family around her, Saturday, February 7 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo. Ruth Evelyn Meyers was born on January 20, 1922 in Moorhead, MN to Fred & Irene (Amundsgaard) Meyers. She married Richard Schulz on December 30, 1942 at her family home. They farmed in Edgeley and near Buchanan, ND where they raised their five children -- all graduating from Jamestown High. In the late 1970's they moved into Jamestown and Ruth worked as a nurses aid at Trinity Hospital and Jamestown Hospital. She enjoyed bowling and rolled many 200+ games. Ruth was an avid reader and enjoyed playing games and cards to the delight of her many grand and great-grandchildren. Part of her daily schedule would include doing a crossword puzzle and reading her Bible and devotional books. Besides her family, St. John's Lutheran Church was a central part of her life. She helped set up the children's library and was active in the Ladies Aid and quilting groups. She enjoyed watching the many birds that visited her feeder and she wrote poetry, with some of her poems being published. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Judy (Gary) Anderson, Fargo, ND; and sons, Larry (Jerri) Schulz, Bismarck, ND; Ken (Kathy) Schulz, Jamestown, ND; Ron (Julie) Schulz, West Fargo, ND; and Bob (Audra) Schulz, Peoria, AZ, 13 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, 8 brothers and sisters, and her husband. Final resting place will be at Highland Cemetery in Jamestown.
