Ryan Weber, 99, Marion, ND, died at Jamestown Hospital on Thursday, October 26, 2006.
Reynold Francis Weber was born on the family farm in Grandview Township near Dickey, ND on September 8, 1907, the son of John and Mary (Schmitz) Weber. He attended the Grandview Township school and then worked for area farmers. Ryan married Dorothy McGrath on June 6, 1930 at Dickey, ND. They settled on the McGrath family farm which they farmed until retiring in 1973 and moving into Marion. Dorothy died in July, 1981. Ryan continued to help on the farm and helped his grandson in a service station in Marion and also served as a member of the Marion Park Board for several years. He continued to live in Marion until moving back to the farm to live with his son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Carol Weber.
Survivors include 1 daughter, Elaine Hoekstra, Barnesville, MN; 1 son, Bob (Carol) Weber, Marion, ND; 15 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; 1 sister, Elizabeth (LaVern) Taylor, Lyle, MN; and 2 sisters-in-law, Frances Weber, LaMoure, ND and Helen Weber, Anacortes, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 1 grandson; 1 son-in-law, Roy Hoekstra; 6 brothers, Floyd, Will, Ervin, Cliff, Art and Rafe; and 2 sisters, Mildred Bakke and Darlene Calkins.
Ryan was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Marion, ND.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 30, 2006 at The Basilica of St. James, Jamestown, ND with Father Al Bitz officiating.
Prayer Service: 7:30 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2006 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND.
Visitation: Noon to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND and 1 hour prior to services in the church on Monday.
Interment: 12:45 p.m. Monday at Lakeview Cemetery, Marion, ND.
