Sally Soupir
Celestine "Sally" Soupir, 87, Wimbledon, ND died at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown, ND on November 2, 2008.
Sally Hornick was born on March 10, 1921 in Brown County, Minnesota, the daughter of Anton and Sophia (Meidle) Hornick. She attended rural schools in Brown County. In 1940, Sally graduated from beauty school in Mankato, MN. On July 10, 1945 she married Frank Soupir. They made their home on a farm near Lucan, MN until 1950, when they purchased a farm south of Courtenay, ND where they raised their 2 sons. They retired from farming in 1970. From 1970 to 1972 they had a home in Courtenay and in 1972 they purchased a home in Wimbledon, where Sally lived until 2007. Frank died in 1994.
Sally was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Courtenay, ND and St. Boniface Catholic Church, Wimbledon, ND where she was a member of the St. Boniface Altar Society. She enjoyed tending her flowers, gardening, working in the fields at the farm, and spending time with family and friends. She was incredible proud of her family and loved holidays when they could all be together.
She is survived by her 2 sons, David (Elaine) and Darold (Claudia), both of Courtenay, ND; 1 sister, Lucille Sellner, Sleepy Eye, MN; sister-in-law, Josephine (Thomas) Routhe, St. Michael, MN; 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 1 sister and 6 brothers.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 6, 2008 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Wimbledon, ND.
Prayer Service: 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at St. Boniface Church.
Visitation: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Interment: St. Mary's Cemetery, Courtenay, ND.
